Welcome and Style Guide

I’m really looking forward to meeting you and capturing you with your loved ones.
More than anything, I want this to feel like a memory preserved, so whenever you look back at your photos, you can remember exactly how it felt in that moment.
We are documenting your family in the fields behind the Strawberry Thief in Tadpole Garden Village.
Location & Session Info:
Date: Thursday 4 June 2026
Time: 19:30pm (Sun sets around 21:11)
Address: Parsons Place, Swindon, SN25 2UF
Parking: There is a small amount of street parking in Blanchard Road or Parsons Place.
Meeting Point: I will meet you by the gates into the fields (pictured at the bottom). If you Sat-Nav to Parsons Place and parked up, walk towards the fields with the hedge on your right. I can pop you a pin via Whatsapp if you get stuck.
What to expect:
We’ll gently meander into the fields chatting as we go and pausing along the way for photos. We can also meander through the fields towards the river if we wanted. There are some great wildflower meadows and trees that we can use the golden light against.
I’ll guide you with soft prompts throughout, allowing moments to unfold naturally and capturing beautiful, relaxed images of you and your family. I will bring some blankets with me and a small number of props that we may use. We will go with the flow, the more relaxed you are about the session, the more relaxed Scarlett will be and we will be completely led by her.
What to bring:
A small rucksack with some water, somewhere to put your phones and outfit changes (for Scarlett) if needed. I will ask you to remove phones from pockets before the session, they can be distracting visually if slotted into pockets and I also want this session to be a 'unplugged' memory where you are all 'in the moment'.
A hairbrush for quick hair refreshes if needed.
Small amount of make up for top ups where required.
Baby wipes for small clean ups and nappy change bag.
Any soft toy, comforter she likes or you would like to incorporate.
Quick Tips:
Remove distracting hair bobbles from wrists.
Avoid wearing smart watches (sports or connected to phone type)
Add subtle jewellery, nothing too distracting,

Style Guide:

Taking the time to plan outfits for a photoshoot isn’t just about looking “nice”, it directly affects how your photos turn out and how you feel in them years later. I’d recommend keeping outfits soft, natural, and comfortable so everything feels timeless and cohesive without looking overly “matched”.
Based on the lovely dress already picked out, you've already got a perfect base for a timeless, natural golden hour photoshoot. This specific dress is ideal because it uses soft, multi-colored pastel floral tones on a clean white background, which is very flattering for golden hour light.
Here is a style guide to help you co-ordinate your family’s outfits around this dress for a golden hour field photoshoot:
Since the dress has delicate pastels and a light, airy feel with its eyelet hem, the goal is to create a soft, coordinated look that reflects the ethereal warmth of the setting sun.
Sophie - Coordinating with the Pastels
The dress has hints of soft pinks, dusty blues, yellow/gold, and green leaves. You can pick any *one* of these tones as your base colour, which will make Scarlett stand out while tying you all together. Avoid patterns to keep the focus on the baby’s dress.
Colour Choices: Dusty Rose/Pink, all White/Cream or Sage Green
Outfit Choices: A long, flowing, maxi-length linen or chiffon dress or a white, midi-length cotton eyelet or linen wrap dress. White/Cream allows the pastels on the baby's dress to pop while giving you a clean, simple look that photographs perfectly or a simple, A-line linen skirt paired with a cream silk camisole, or a sage green jumpsuit. This picks up the leaf colours and blends beautifully with a grassy field setting.
James - Grounding the Look
James’s outfit should be more grounded to add depth to the photos. Since Scarlett and you are in light, warm, or pastel tones, James can introduce a slightly darker, contrasting colour.
Outfit Choices: A simple, high-quality light-to-medium blue linen button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up with tan or beige chinos or Rust & Cream/Ivory knitted polo with rust or terracotta coloured trousers/chinos. Another option could be a crisp white shirt (sleeves rolled) with light grey or stone-colored chinos. Clean, simple, and allows everyone else’s colours to pop.
Accessories/Footwear:
Sophie: A flat leather sandal or something comfy like vans or trainers but try and avoid stark white. This will be best for wondering the fields.
James: A casual leather sneaker (not bright white) or brown/tan boot. Barefoot can also be very sweet for a bohemian feel.
My biggest tip would be to lay out the clothes and then build all the other outfits around it and make sure you are happy with the final cohesive look.
Remember: Avoid dark clothing such as black, big distracting logos or large prints and any item of clothing or footwear that are stark white for this scenario.
Ask yourself: Does anything jump out too much? Do at least 2-3 people share similar tones? Would this still look good in 5–10 years? If yes, you’re in a very good place.
I appreciate this can feel overwhelming at first but really setting aside some time to get outfits right will make a huge difference. If you are unsure or want to send me some outfit choices you have planned please Whatsapp me on (+44) 07464 761069 or pop me an email with some pictures.
** Any colours within this palette will work (different shades)

Finally...

The main thing to do on the day is to enjoy the session, it will last up to 90 minutes and be a great time to connect as a family. This will be a memory and I feel so privileged to be chosen to document it for you.
Please Note: This field is used by dog walkers and locals, it is frustrating but not every dog owner will pick up after their dog! Be mindful of this when we are exploring.
